Cinema Politica Ridge Meadows is partnering with Maple Ridge Friends For Peace to host this premiere screening in our community. The aim is to inform and encourage respectful discussion on the on going conflict in Israel/Palestine while we work together for a permanent ceasefire and peace in the region.

Guest Speakers: Philip Sherwood is a freelance writer / editor and an advocate for human rights for Palestinians. He has made dozens of presentations in post-secondary classrooms and at community events. Philip has visited Israel / Palestine three times, most recently in late 2022 as part of a fact-finding delegation. A Palestinian Canadian who grew up in Bethlehem, Palestine and lived through the first and second intifada, working in Palestine as a music curriculum developer. This enabled her to witness how music helped elementary school kids, as well as their teachers across the West Bank, to process the never ending, never processed, trauma they experienced.
