Cinema Politica Groningen is thrilled to partner with the Colombian Migrant Film Festival for an evening of short documentaries about indigenous and environmental activism in Colombia. By pairing Cinema Politica’s Frontera Invisible with the CMFF’s Bosques el ultimo refugio del aire (Fernanda Pineda, 2023), we collectively pass the microphone to the struggles of Columbia’s indigenous communities to self-determine their future and the strength with which they meet that struggle.
Both films will be screened with English subtitles.
Iva Pesa is an Assistant Professor in Contemporary History at the University of Groningen. Her research focuses on historical narratives of resource extraction in the global South.
