Zionism strives for a full erasure of Palestine, including the eradication of Palestinian art. As global institutions continue to silence the genocide of Palestinians, it becomes increasingly urgent to spotlight works that frankly document the occupation of Palestine. Consequently, Cinema Politica has assembled a collection of four powerful films on Palestine. These documentary and narrative works alike represent the indomitable spirit of Palestinian resistance against both ethnic cleansing and the violating channels of refugee migration. These films will be available to stream for free on our VOD platform until December 23rd.

ZINCO

Serene Husni’s haunting short film ZINCO chronicles the Al Talbieh Palestinian refugee camp in Jordan, elucidating the history of its construction materials (from tent canopies to reinforced concrete). Mixed with moving testimonies of Palestinians refugees, ZINCO is a materialist study on the architecture of displacement.

NOTES ON DISPLACEMENT

NOTES ON DISPLACEMENT, the second film by multidisciplinary artist Khaled Jarrar, follows a family of Palestinian refugees across a dehumanizing migration from Syria to Germany. With heartbreaking immediacy, Jarrar’s film captures the unwavering perseverance of migrants ushered through a labyrinth of impossible living conditions.

LITTLE PALESTINE: DIARY OF A SIEGE

Abdallah Al-Khatib’s debut film LITTLE PALESTINE: DIARY OF A SIEGE documents the assault on Yarmouk: the world’s largest Palestinian refugee camp (located in Damascus). Besieged by the Assad government, Al-Khatib films the daily life of Yarmouk residents, condemned to slow death from all directions.

3000 NIGHTS

Unfolding in the max-security women’s cellblocks of the Israeli Ramala Prison, Mai Masri’s mesmerizing 3000 NIGHTS follows the fictional story of a pregnant Palestinian schoolteacher’s unjust arrest and eight-year sentencing. Surrounded by barbed wire and carceral grates, she finds solidarity with fellow prisoners, participates in a prison strike, and raises her child behind bars, maintaining a spirit of revolutionary optimism.
