About the Film
On September 5, 2008, Maisy Odjick and Shannon Alexander, two young women from the Uanishnabe community of Kitigan Zibi, disappeared. The media did not cover the event, even while this situation has become alarmingly common in communities.

Shaynah Decontie Thusky

Shaynah Decontie Thusky is Anisnabe and comes from Kitigan Zibi. She has directed three short films with the Wapikoni: Saagihidiwin (Love ) in 2009, Unknown in 2010 and Finding The Light in 2013. Her work is inspired by themes such as love relationships but also by the issue of missing and murdered indigenous women. Filled with willingness, determination and good ideas, Shaynah has had to show courage to raise such a sensitive subject to the time in the communities.
