THE RIGHT FIGHT
If there was ever a time to fight for what is right, including against those on the right, it is now. With the gilded ascent of trolls, neo-fascists and the broligarchy, the world is on a political precipice.
Cinema Politica Concordia’s Winter 2025 program follows and explores myriad fights in uniquely creative and critical ways – against neoliberalism, fascism, colonialism, racism, capitalism, incarceration, ableism and corporatism. These outstanding works offer a bulwark against the iniquity of tyranny, greed, ignorance and injustice. They show that behind land grabs and genocide in Palestine, violent racism in the UK and US, pollution in the Amazon, inhumane carceral policies, anti-labour actions, the global pandemic of plastic, and the climate crisis the world over, one will find the extremely rich and powerful, as well as the extremely conservative and far right. These disparate issues therefore have a commonality – the class war that continues to be waged against the poor and working class is in full spin.
The right fight against these dark forces is equally unified and active, and this group of inspiring films reveal what is at play, and what is at stake.
