Members of the SJN seek to promote social and environmental justice in our faith community and our neighbourhoods, city, and country, through advocacy, education, governance, and project development. We meet monthly at the church every 3rd Sunday at 12:30 pm, and we’re involved in a variety of projects and demonstrations in between. If you’re passionate about social and environmental justice, come and check us out… all are welcome.
In order for us to raise awareness, provoke interesting discussions, and inspire action, we will screen provocative films about social and environmental justice issues that are current and relevant to the projects we champion as a network of motivated and active members of our community. We will endeavour to have filmmakers and other knowledgeable speakers in attendance to engage with our audiences after each screening in order to create a rich and vibrant experience for all who attend.
All of our screenings are held at the Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto, 115 Simpson Avenue in Toronto and are free of charge. However donations are encouraged to help keep us sustainable and so we can continue to do our work in the variety of social and environmental justice areas our members are passionate about. So, come on out, bring your family and friends, and let’s get inspired to bring about the world we all want to live in. See you at the movies!
